One grid for a whole set of documents.
Tabular review turns a pile of documents into one grid. Each row is a document, each column is a question, and every cell is answered from its own document.
- Choose the documentsSelect the documents to review, such as a set of leases, contracts or a disclosure bundle.
- Set the questionsWrite each question once as a column. Clava puts every question to every document in the set.
- Read the gridEach answer sits in its cell with a citation to the page it came from. Select any cell to read the source passage.
Built to be checked, cell by cell.
- One question, every documentThe same question is asked of each document, so the answers can be compared directly.
- A cited answer in each cellEvery answer names the document and page it relies on.
- Open the sourceSelect a cell to open the passage with the words highlighted.
- Export to ExcelExport the whole review to Excel, with the answers and citations, for your own working.
Consistent questions, checkable answers.
Many reviews go wrong because each reviewer asks slightly different questions of each document. Asking one question of every document keeps the review consistent, and the grid makes any document that answers differently easy to spot.
The citation in each cell is what makes the grid useful. A reviewer can check a surprising answer in seconds, without searching the document again. The answer is then the reviewer’s to accept or correct.
