Clava

The future of legal work.

The first AI system that completes legal work end to end. Clava reads each matter, plans the work and does it, so your team can take on ten times as much. Your lawyers approve every piece.

One system that runs the matter, from the first document to sign-off.

Open a matter and add the papers. Clava reads them, writes the first pass, plans what is left and staffs Associates to do it. You review the result as you would a trainee’s work: every point cited to the page, and nothing sent until you approve it.

How Clava works

Plan, route, delegate, decide, learn.

Follow one share purchase, Project Kestrel, from the data room to sign-off.

  1. Clava reads the whole file, then plans the matter.

Add the data room and Clava reads every page that day. It writes the first pass: the issues ranked, a chronology with every event cited, the key dates. Then it sets out the work left, with an owner and a due date for each task.

  2. Each task goes to the model best suited to it.

Reading a 64 page SPA, researching indirect change of control and marking up a draft need different strengths. The router picks a model for each task, so long reading, research and drafting each get the right one.

  3. Associates do the work, from research to marked up draft.

Staff an Associate to the matter as you would a junior, on as many matters as you like at once. It researches the point, drafts or marks up in Word, and cites every statement to the page or provision it relies on. You can follow each step as it works.

  4. Nothing leaves Clava until a lawyer approves it.

Each piece comes back on an approval card: the issue, why it matters, the points for and against, and the sources. Approve, edit or reject it. Every decision is recorded with who made it and when.

  5. Every correction makes the whole firm better.

When a lawyer edits the work, Clava drafts the lesson as a firm position. Once a partner approves it, every open and future matter applies it, and cites it.

One team, doing the work of ten.

Clava gives your team specialist Associates. Each one works from a blueprint written by legal professionals: the steps a careful solicitor takes on that kind of work, the checks they make, and what the finished work should look like.

Your lawyers choose the work, the Associates do it, and a lawyer approves every piece. So one team can take on what used to need ten.

Our vision

A small firm that can take on the work of a much larger one.

Lawyers bring judgement, experience and the trust of their clients. Most of the rest of a matter is reading, checking and drafting, and that is where most of the week goes. We are building the layer that does that work: it plans each matter, gives every piece to the Associate best suited to it, checks each citation against its source and puts the finished work in front of the lawyer who owns it.

Clava started in Inverness, built by a paralegal for the firms that cannot hire a floor of trainees. Every decision is still made by a lawyer, every point is cited to its source and every client document stays in the UK.

See Clava on a matter like yours.
